How to File & Track Your Case

Your Isbah documents are ready. Now, follow this guide to officially submit your application to the U.S. government and track your progress to approval.

01

Create Your USCIS Account

Even if you are filing by mail, a USCIS online account allows you to receive electronic alerts, check processing times, and manage your case 24/7.

  • Go to myaccount.uscis.gov
  • Use a valid email address you check often.
  • Set up Two-Factor Authentication for security.
  • Note down your security questions—you will need them later!

02

Sign Your Documents

CRITICAL: USCIS does not accept digital signatures for most mailed forms.

  • Print Single-Sided: Never print double-sided pages. USCIS scanners cannot read them.
  • Black Ink Only: Sign every signature box marked "Applicant" or "Petitioner" using a black pen.
  • Keep a Copy: Always scan or photocopy your signed packet before mailing it.
03

Paying Government Fees

Government fees must be included in the same envelope as your application. You have two options:

Check or Money Order

Make payable to "U.S. Department of Homeland Security." Do not use abbreviations like "USDHS."

Credit/Debit Card

You must include a completed Form G-1450 (Authorization for Credit Card Transactions) at the very top of your packet.

04

Mail & Track Your Case

Mailing addresses (Lockboxes) change based on where you live and which form you file.

  • Use the address provided in your Isbah Final Instructions email.
  • Use Tracking: Always mail via USPS Certified Mail, FedEx, or UPS.
  • Track on Dashboard: Once you receive your Receipt Number (starts with IOE, MSC, etc.), enter it into your Isbah Dashboard to track progress.

What happens next?

Because we handle many different types of applications, exact processing timelines will vary depending on your specific forms.

1. Receipt Notice Usually arrives a few weeks after mailing, but varies by form type.
2. Biometrics & Next Steps If your specific application requires fingerprints or an interview, USCIS will notify you.
3. Ongoing Processing Processing times vary widely. USCIS will issue an RFE only if they need more evidence from you.
